- Accumulator
- A bet that combines multiple selections into one wager, with winnings rolling over from each winning selection.
- Arbitrage
- Exploiting differences in odds across bookmakers to guarantee a profit regardless of the result.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap system that eliminates the draw option and gives a fractional advantage or disadvantage to each team.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for placing bets.
- Bet slip
- The form or section where you confirm your chosen bets, stake, and potential payout before placing the wager.
- Bookmaker
- A company or person that sets odds and accepts bets on sporting events.
- Both teams to score
- A bet on whether each side will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash out
- The option to settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or cutting a loss.
- Correct score
- A wager predicting the exact final score of a match.
- Draw no bet
- A bet that refunds your stake if the match ends in a draw, otherwise the side you chose must win.
- First goal scorer
- A prop bet on which player will score the opening goal of the match.
- Goal line
- The total number of goals set by the bookmaker for a match, similar to an over/under but specific to soccer.
- Hedge
- Placing a second bet on the opposite outcome to reduce potential loss or secure a profit.
- In-play betting
- Placing a bet after the match has started, with odds that update as the game progresses.
- Juice
- The commission that the bookmaker charges for taking a bet, usually built into the odds.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, with odds expressed as a positive or negative number.
- Odds
- The number that indicates how much you can win relative to your stake, also reflecting the implied chance of an outcome.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a number set by the bookmaker.
- Parlay
- A single bet that links two or more selections and pays out only if all of them win.
- Point Spread
- A handicap given to a team to level the playing field, requiring them to win by a certain margin or lose within a set margin.
- Prop bet
- A wager on a specific event within a match, such as which player scores first or how many yellow cards are given.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a single bet.
- Value bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, suggesting a potential edge.
